Judge Merchan drops the hammer on Donald Trump
After Judge Merchan didn’t include his own daughter in his gag order against Donald Trump, Trump (or whoever is running his social media account) spent the weekend attacking the judge’s daughter. There were endless claims that Trump was violating the gag order with such posts, but this wasn’t actually the case.
Sure enough, as expected, the judge dropped the hammer on Trump today by expanding his gag order to include his own daughter. So much for Trump’a little playtime.
In spite of all the popular narratives on TV and Twitter, Trump tends to cower in the face of things like gag orders. So he’ll probably now be afraid to attack the judge’s daughter.
In any case, the expanded gag order is yet another instance of Trump losing and being further caged in. It’s a reminder that Trump isn’t actually getting away with anything, and that the courts indeed own him. Trump’s first criminal trial begins in just two weeks.
