Judge Chutkan issues order to Donald Trump about protective order

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s been more than a full day since Donald Trump posted “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!” on Truth Social. It’s been roughly sixteen hours since Jack Smith and the DOJ made a court filing for a protective order against Trump, citing that post.

For that matter it’s been several hours since Judge Chutkan gave Trump a Monday deadline for filing a response to the DOJ’s filing (his scrambling lawyers are seeking a three day delay). And yet after all this, Trump’s Truth Social post is still there.

The fact that Trump still hasn’t deleted the post is proof that he doesn’t have a single lawyer or adviser around him who can keep him from destroying himself. Deleting the post would be the first step in trying to convince the judge to go easy on him when she issues a ruling on this DOJ filing.

Trump could argue that while his post was about some other harmless thing, he nonetheless decided to delete it because he didn’t want even the appearance of impropriety. Instead the idiot is still insisting on keeping his post intact. He’s about to find out the hard way that his antics while awaiting trial cannot help him in any way, and can only hurt him.
