In spite of all the media hype, Judge Aileen Cannon has not magically delayed Donald Trump’s classified documents criminal trial past the election. But Cannon has been trying to help Trump in various small ways, including threatening to release the names of all the witnesses for the prosecution. Now it turns out this has actually worked against Trump in a big way.

If you were wondering why the witness for the prosecution known as “Trump Employee 5” decided to go public with his story on Monday, he just provided the answer. The witness, whose real name is Brian Butler, said during the interview that the reason he decided to go public with his story is that Judge Cannon was threatening to put his name out there anyway.

So now, thanks to Judge Cannon’s inappropriate attempt at helping Donald Trump, the public is hearing all about how guilty Trump is before the trial even gets underway. Because Cannon is an idiot, Trump just lost a big battle in the court of public opinion.
