Donald Trump Jr’s stunning reaction after Donald Trump incriminates him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We’ve officially reached the point in Donald Trump’s incremental demise where he feels the need to directly incrimate his own son, in the increasingly feeble hope of fending off his own inevitable downfall. It’s not a surprise that Trump went there yesterday, though it is something of a surprise that he’s going there so soon. The stunning part, however, is Donald Trump Jr’s reaction to having been betrayed by his father.

We were expecting Donald Trump Jr to go in one of three directions. The first would have been to retweet his father and play along with the silly notion that the crimes in question somehow weren’t illegal. This would have been stupid, but Junior is indeed stupid, and retweeting his father is how Junior tends to handle every Trump family crime scandal. The other two scenarios would have been for Junior to mount his own line of defense on Twitter, or to simply go quiet, perhaps on the advice of his own counsel.

Instead, Trump Jr took an entirely different approach. He spent the day retweeting nonsense about LeBron James. He tweeted the latest conspiracy theory about how Twitter is supposedly targeting pro-Trump voices. In fact Junior spent all day obsessively focused on this delusional stuff. To be clear, this guy was probably just sent to prison for the rest of his life by his own father, and yet this is where his head is instead.

If we’d seen Donald Trump Jr take any of the three expected approaches we outlined above, we wouldn’t be bothering to write this article. Any of them would have been rational, given the no-win situation he just found himself in. But for Junior to spend all day retweeting conspiratorial nonsense, but not retweet his father’s tweet about him… that’s fairly stunning. This is not a rational response. It’s worth keeping a close eye on what Trump Jr says and does next, because something isn’t right here.
