We told you it was time for Donald Trump Jr to panic

On Sunday, Palmer Report said that it was time for Donald Trump Jr and Jared Kushner to panic. Why? WikiLeaks had just been referenced in the indictment of the Russian government spies who hacked the election, and both Trump family members had communications with WikiLeaks during the election, while holding meetings with the Russians. However those dots fit together, we were about to see them connected. But we didn’t know the next shoe would drop on Trump Jr this quickly.

The arrest of Maria Butina is bad news for a whole lot of bad people. Russian politician Alexander Torshin just lost his top political operative. The NRA is about to get busted like a piñata. The investigation into Butina has exposed a backchannel from multiple unnamed Republican leaders, through the NRA, to the Kremlin – meaning some people in the GOP are going to prison. But the really bad news here may be for Donald Trump Jr.

During the 2016 election, Donald Trump Jr met with Torshin and Butina at an NRA event. You can’t get any more on-the-nose than that. Trump Jr claimed that the meeting was “brief and not memorable” – but this is the same guy who lied about his Trump Tower meeting with the Russians in twelve different ways. Whatever really went on during that meeting, Mueller has clearly already investigated it – and now he has Butina in custody.

Throughout this increasingly complex and surreal Trump-Russia election conspiracy, the one consistency has been that any time a weird coincidence has happened, it’s later turned out to have been anything but a coincidence. Now the Russian operative who met with Donald Trump Jr at an NRA convention has been arrested for her role in the Trump-Russia conspiracy. Anyone think that’s going to turn out to be a coincidence? For that matter, is it a coincidence that Robert Mueller’s last two moves have related to Trump Jr’s interactions with the Russians during the election? Junior might want to start getting fitted for prison stripes.
