Donald Trump’s inauguration scandal is connected to Donald Trump Jr’s Russia meeting at Trump Tower
Monday evening’s bombshell about the SDNY federal investigation into Donald Trump’s inauguration crimes is still sending shockwaves across the landscape. The big question has been just how many people in Trump’s inner circle are caught up in this. Suffice it to say that these latest revelations don’t look good for Donald Trump Jr.
Last night Palmer Report brought you the story of how Trump allegedly confessed his intent to steal from the inauguration fund to two witnesses. We also brought you the story of how Ivanka Trump and Rudy Giuliani and maybe even Mike Pence appear to be caught in the middle of the inauguration mess as well. But the involvement of Donald Trump Jr, though more tangential, might end up being the most important.
By now everyone not living under a rock knows that Donald Trump Jr met with Russian government representatives at Trump Tower during the 2016 election, and that Junior went into the meeting with the intention of illegally accepting Russian help in the election. The key Kremlin representative at Junior’s meeting was Natalia Veselnitskaya, who has since been indicted and is a fugitive at large. As it turns out, Veselnitskaya was also at the Trump inauguration.
Best anyone can tell, the Kremlin representatives who attended the Trump inauguration all paid illegal bribes to the inaugural committee in order to secure tickets. In fact Republican operative Samuel Patten is going to prison partly as a result of having helped a Kremlin oligarch secure tickets. So there has to be a criminal money trail from Natalia Veselnitskaya to the Trump inauguration fund. Considering Donald Trump Jr’s relationship with Veselnitskaya, it’s difficult to imagine he wasn’t involved – and now the SDNY has the subpoenaed records.
