Joy Reid just destroyed racist House Republican Glenn Grothman
If you’ve never heard of House Republican Glenn Grothman, consider yourself lucky. The guy is a mess in every sense of the word. It wasn’t enough that he voted against the COVID relief bill today, along with every other member of his party. He also made a stunningly racist and ignorant remark while criticizing the bill.
Joy Reid used her MSNBC show tonight to call out Congressman Grothman, who stood on the House floor today and claimed that the COVID bill has a “marriage penalty.” This is misleading to begin with. But then he claimed that this was inserted into the bill because Black Lives Matter doesn’t like the traditional family structure. No really, he said this.
As Joy Reid pointed out, the Black Lives Matter movement is simply asking that Black people, including Black mothers and Black fathers, not be murdered. Yet this clown Glenn Grothman has the nerve to push the racist trope that Black people don’t like two parent families? Grothman should be expelled from the House for this remark alone, but of course he has a history of talking like this.
