Josh Hawley goes off the rails during Trump’s impeachment trail

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Josh Hawley is a criminal co-conspirator in the domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol, so he certainly shouldn’t be a juror in Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. Unfortunately, unlike with a criminal trial, there aren’t many rules when it comes to impeachment trials that could restrict this sort of thing. Hawley is now flaunting this by behaving as boorishly as possible during the trial.

Multiple major news outlets are now reporting that during today’s impeachment trial proceedings, Josh Hawley sat with his feet up on the chair in front of him and made a point of reading unrelated printed materials.

Hawley is trying to send a clear signal that he thinks the trial is illegitimate and of no interest to him. That’s cute, but it’s not going to help him. Plenty of major donors are on the fence about whether to cut Hawley off entirely, which would be a career killer for a Republican.

And of course prosecutors are surely watching Josh Hawley’s behavior today and attempting to determine whether it’s evidence of consciousness of guilt, when it comes to any criminal charges that Hawley might face. This violent, disrespectful clown is in over his head and he just keeps digging himself a deeper hole.
