John Roberts strikes again

In beautiful America, it is ILLEGAL to “disappear” people off the streets. For Kilmar Abrego Garcia from the state of Maryland, that is precisely what has happened. This story has received enormous press for a good reason—what the Trump administration did was illegal, unsavory, evil, and never should have occurred.
Judge after Judge after Judge came down on this man’s side until a particular court decided to weigh in. That, of course, is the extreme court. Notice a pattern here? As of this writing, the court has not weighed in fully. But they did pause a midnight deadline to get this man home. Some say not to read too much into that, and perhaps they’re right. But John Roberts and his “court” have made blunder after blunder. And I wonder.
Is this intentional? Perhaps Roberts, as weak as he is, is scared to weigh in, scared that Donald Trump will refuse to follow his directive. I am not the only one to wonder about that. Fear is a contagion. Opening one’s heart to fear can sweep through one like volts of electricity, turning lights out and keeping one in the midnight blackness of inaction and inertia.
We must remember that these Republican justices never do anything without first weighing how it helps them. Their priority is always themselves. ALWAYS. So if Roberts wants to be seen — wants his court to be seen– as all-powerful, then he might waft on getting into direct confrontations with the Trump administration. After all, if Trump ignores his rulings — then little Mr. John Roberts becomes irrelevant.
Now, perhaps I will be wrong, and soon—very soon—an order will come down from the court DEMANDING the return of this husband and this father, whose feet should never have left American soil. I doubt it. But I hope DEARLY I am wrong, for this is one such time I’d celebrate being wrong.
I once wrote an article in which I compared Mr. Roberts to Brutus. Roberts IS Brutus, as he has aimed his malevolent sword entirely at America’s foundation — Democracy. Mr. Roberts should not have ruled on this order at ALL. He did not have to. MANY legal men have SAID he didn’t have to. This is not a case that needed any further discussions. Abrego Garcia must be returned.
If Mr. Roberts does not seek to return him, then we must have protests—the SAME TYPE of hands-off protests we had just this past weekend. We must get the extreme court into the consciousness of the American people. We must make their names synonymous with the stealing and the KIDNAPPING of democracy. Roberts and his corrupt court are human shields, shielding people who kidnap, traffic, and hurt — it’s time to STOP giving Mr. John Roberts chance after chance after chance and make him and his court of thieves the focus of protests to come.
