John Roberts just can’t help himself

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Some members of the Extreme court are speaking out about the great affront done to them by the American people thinking their rulings are a crock of shit. And what they’re saying, in my opinion, makes them even look more out of touch.

Let’s start with Chief Justice John Roberts. Roberts is a bit of an enigma. He has reportedly been very concerned about the reputation of the Supreme Court, yet he could really help in that regard. He could start by coming out with some rules for the Extreme court. So far, he has not done so.

And Roberts on Friday said people shouldn’t hold it against the court that they come out with decisions some do not agree with. Roberts, looking earnest, said it is up to the court to interpret the constitution. And he also said public opinion should not be the “guide” over how to do this.

That’s all well and good, but Roberts seems to be conveniently forgetting that the Supreme Court is gutting women’s rights, slapping the American people in the face (metaphorically speaking), and bending over backward to accommodate Republicans. I’m pretty sure that is not in the constitution.

Roberts also said it is “gut-wrenching” to drive into a court surrounded by barricades.

I say it is pretty gut-wrenching for 10-year-old children to give birth to their rapist’s babies, something I’m also sure is not in the constitution.

And then we have Neil Gorsuch, who spoke at a judicial conference and said a report on who the leaker of the Roe decision was would be coming shortly. Gorsuch also ruminated on “improper” efforts to “influence judicial decision-making.” Perhaps he should be telling this to Ginni Thomas.

Speaking of Ginni, she is now being linked to countless anti-abortion groups. It seems every day there is news about that. The bottom line is something stinks when it comes to the extreme court. And they’re no longer considered a serious institution.

This is not to take anything away from the Justices on the court who ARE serious. But many who sit on the court now are rotten apples.
Their rot has encompassed America, and their approval ratings are in the toilet because the American people see the rot. The American people are not quite as stupid as many Justices seem to think.
