John Eastman just made a huge mistake
Former Trump election attorney John Eastman is currently out on bail while awaiting trial in Fulton County, and also appears to be on track to get criminally indicted by Jack Smith. Eastman is headed for prison and should be begging for a cooperation deal from anyone willing to give him one. But Eastman is an idiot.
So instead Eastman just went on 60 Minutes and ran his mouth for an interview. There wasn’t exactly a Perry Mason moment during the interview. But now prosecutors in both cases will go over the interview transcript with a fine tooth comb to see what they can use as part of their cases.
It’s not simply a matter of what John Eastman might have confessed to during the interview. It’s also a matter of Eastman’s own words closing off various defense strategies that he might end up wanting to use when he gets to trial. Eastman just made a huge mistake – which is quite typical for him at this point.
