Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. With everyone from Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski to General John Kelly now publicly siding with General James Mattis over Donald Trump, it’s sent Trump scurrying for allies. This evening he finally settled on someone willing to defend him: John Dowd.

Donald Trump tweeted a lengthy and absurd letter from “respected retired Marine and Super Star lawyer, John Dowd” which criticized General Mattis. But if the name sounded a bit familiar, it’s because John Dowd is his lawyer. That’s right, Trump is reduced to misrepresenting his own lawyer as if he were some kind of unbiased figure.

So many people began piling on and making fun of Donald Trump for this stunt, the name “John Dowd” began trending on Twitter. Trump’s antics just keep failing him.
