Donald Trump’s stooge John Cornyn goes completely off the deep end
It’s funny how Donald Trump didn’t start referring to the coronavirus as the “Chinese Virus” until the stock market collapsed and he needed to spin up a racist distraction. Actually, it’s not funny, it’s disgusting. What’s even worse is that Trump’s Republican sycophants are taking their cues and diving headfirst into the racism themselves.
Take, for instance, worthless GOP Senator John Cornyn:
Sen. John Cornyn: "China is to blame because the culture where people eat bats & snakes & dogs & things like that, these viruses are transmitted from the animal to the people and that's why China has been the source of a lot of these viruses like SARS, like MERS, the Swine Flu." pic.twitter.com/N4TIlGFqAL

Wow. To be clear, most of the viruses that he listed off didn’t even come from Asia. That’s so ignorantly and viciously racist, we’re not even sure where to start. The good news is that John Cornyn is up for reelection in November, and his Democratic opponent MJ Hegar has a real shot at ousting him.
