John Bolton comes to life on Twitter, lashes out at Trump and the White House, appears to be hyping his impeachment testimony

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Monday, a judge will rule whether Don McGahn must testify in the House impeachment inquiry. John Bolton has already stated that he’ll use that ruling as guidance on whether he’ll testify. Ahead of that ruling, Bolton has curiously come to life on Twitter today after a multi-month silence, and he’s lashing out at Donald Trump and the White House. Here’s a sampling of what John Bolton has tweeted thus far today:

Glad to be back on Twitter after more than two months. For the backstory, stay tuned……..

We have now liberated the Twitter account, previously suppressed unfairly in the aftermath of my resignation as National Security Advisor. More to come…..

Re: speaking up — since resigning as National Security Advisor, the @WhiteHouse refused to return access to my personal Twitter account. Out of fear of what I may say? To those who speculated I went into hiding, I’m sorry to disappoint!

In full disclosure, the @WhiteHouse never returned access to my Twitter account. Thank you to @twitter for standing by their community standards and rightfully returning control of my account.

Okay, so John Bolton is lashing out at Trump and the White House for having forcibly silenced him on Twitter after his departure as White House National Security Adviser. He’s also accusing the Trump White House of being afraid of what he might say. And he’s making clear that Trump never did restore his Twitter access, and instead Twitter itself had to intervene. But what’s this all about?

Based on the timing, it very much looks like John Bolton is suddenly trying to build hype for his own House impeachment inquiry testimony. Bolton knows that Monday’s ruling will very likely result in him publicly testifying next week. We all know that Bolton wants to use all of this to drive sales of his upcoming book – so Bolton has begun hyping his testimony in advance. Whatever gets the job done.
