John Bolton just screwed us all again tonight
Earlier today, Palmer Report brought you the story of how John Bolton is finally making a public appearance for the first time since he refused to testify during House impeachment proceedings and then got shut out of Senate impeachment proceedings. Bolton has screwed us by remaining silent. He may have also screwed up the sales of his upcoming anti-Trump book, considering how many potential buyers he’s alienated.
The good news is that John Bolton did go through with his public appearance tonight at Duke University, meaning he hasn’t canceled his book and gone into hiding now that a supposedly “emboldened” Trump has been acquitted, as some fatalists had predicted. The bad news is that Bolton is still being coy, and that’s never a good sign when you’re talking about people who aren’t nearly as clever as they think they are.
When Bolton was asked tonight about Donald Trump’s Ukraine scandal, his response – according MSNBC’s Chris Matthews – was “You’re going to love chapter fourteen!”
That’s cute and all. But Donald Trump is still ripping the country to shreds, and John Bolton’s solution is still to make us wait for his bleeping book to come out in a month before he’s willing to lift a finger to help the country. However you define patriotism, this is the opposite of it.
