Joe Biden just made history by dropping a bombshell about his running mate during the Democratic Debate

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you skipped tonight’s Democratic primary debate, either because you’re busy dealing with the coronavirus crisis or because you know the primary race is already over, you missed a fascinating moment. When the topic came up about a running mate, Joe Biden dropped a bombshell.

Joe Biden just 100% committed to having a woman for his running mate. He did it in exact words. And just to make sure there was no doubt, his official Twitter account then posted “My running mate will be a woman.” So who’s it going to be?

Last week Joe Biden seemed to strongly hint on the Lawrence O’Donnell show that his running mate would be Kamala Harris. We’ve also seen earlier speculation in the media that his running mate could be Stacey Abrams. Others have asked if perhaps it could be Amy Klobuchar or Elizabeth Warren. Either way, history has just been made.

While Walter Mondale and John McCain each picked a woman for a running mate, neither was the frontrunner at the time, and neither of them was seriously expected to win. In contrast, Joe Biden has announced that he’s going with a woman running mate at a time when he’s the clear frontrunner. Biden also repeated his earlier assertion that he’ll put a black woman on the Supreme Court.
