Joe Biden just scored another huge primary victory

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night Joe Biden scored four primary state victories, each important for a different reason. Mississippi showed that his dominance with African American voters is continuing. Missouri showed he can win white suburban and rural voters. Michigan showed he can dominate in political hotbeds. And Idaho showed he can win states he wasn’t supposed to win. Now he’s scored another big one.

Throughout this primary season, we’ve seen Dave Wasserman from Redistrict calling states before any of the TV networks do, and he’s turned out to be correct every time. So it’s a big deal that Wasserman just tweeted this: “I’ve seen enough: Joe Biden wins the Washington primary.”

We’re not surprised to see this. Biden and Sanders were already roughly even with about two-thirds of the votes having been counted. Once we started getting into the last minute mail-in ballots, which were always going to trend toward Biden due to his ongoing surge (and the sheer number of candidates who recently dropped out and endorsed him), the state was always going to trend toward Biden.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders has won North Dakota, but this week has turned out to be a decisive loss for him. There’s no reason for him to still be in the race. If he sticks around until next Tuesday, he’s set to get blown out in Florida, Arizona, and Illinois.
