Joe Biden just nailed it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It happens all the time — everywhere. It happens in the dark of night. It happens in the great outdoors, at campsites, and on glorious nature trails. It happens at lovely restaurants, cozy pubs, and amidst the neon glow of the city streets. It is the sound of politics.

Politics is spoken about everywhere. Sometimes we speak of it in hushed voices, other times in rumbling rallying cries. This is one thing that will never change. As time ticks by, so the endless political discussions go on.

And people have a lot to talk about. President Biden has saved us from one of the most enormous monsters this country has ever known. And he did a town hall with Anderson Cooper to talk about the state of our nation today.

So much was discussed. But one thing was quite clear. Nobody can say that President Biden is “senile.” Nobody can say he does not have his finger on the pulse of what is going on. And yet, the GOP will try. But watching Biden’s magnificent town hall the other night was a breath of fresh air.

It is amazing how empathetic the man is and how he connects so effortlessly with each person he speaks with. This is the way politics should be. We dearly need more humility in this country, and our President has brought it.

The announcement that Biden would consider abolishing the filibuster was good news indeed. And he spoke about so much. But I would prefer to speak about his demeanor. President Biden appeared calm, collected, and in control. He looked like a President — like a man who is confident he will get things done.

And there was even some humor. Joking that his favorable ratings had spiked on Fox non-news, Biden declared they were at about 3% on the hate network these days. He also called Fox out for not telling their devoted fans Fox has Covid vaccine mandates.

It was a great town hall, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I hope you did too. And as the never-ending drum-beat of political speak goes on, everywhere, hopefully, many will feel just a bit more reassured.
