Since everyone wants to make President Joe Biden’s age an issue in this election, he is addressing it head on in his new ad following the State of the Union address. It’s a good one, and it’s right on point. He starts out with: “Look, I’m not a young guy. That’s no secret, but here’s the deal: I know how to get things done for the American people.” He goes with his long list of accomplishments, all of which have had a positive affect on us whether we’re Democratic or Republican voters. Republican voters are crazy if they want Donald Trump back in the White House, and this ad also highlights that. Look at your leisure, and you’ll agree. Denial changes nothing that President Biden has been able to accomplish despite the mess Trump left and certainly despite his age.

According to Associated Press, the ad is specifically aimed at Black, Asian, and Hispanic communities. The opening, however, is for everyone who wants to question the president’s age and see it as a negative. Beyond that, it is appalling how Republicans behaved during the SOU, especially Mike Johnson, who sat behind President Biden, smirking, shaking his head, and generally looking like a spineless fool. When Biden mentioned the bipartisan border bill that Johnson refused to take to the floor, Republicans booed. That bill would have done so much to stop crossings at the border. It would have hired 1,500 more security agents and officers, 100 more immigration judges, 4,300 more asylum officers, and new policies that would shorten the timeframes. The camera focused on one Republican who was nodding his head, and you could see him mouth: “That’s true.”

Republicans cannot fight against truth, and that’s what Democrats are giving. Republicans like to spin things to fit their agenda. Luckily for them, their constituents do nothing but listen to them. They don’t bother to investigate the veracity of what their leaders tell them, which results in them simply believing everything they say. It would behoove them to take the time to really listen and fact-check what they have to say because it is likely untrue. This supports the notion that Democratic voters tend to be educated and enlightened. We don’t just take words at face value. Take Trump’s latest photo op for example. According to LA Times, Trump used AI to surround himself by groups of Black people. Be careful of snake oil salesmen. They will hypnotize you to get what they want, like Trump’s 2017 tax reform law that cut taxes on corporations and the wealthy. President Biden wants to tax the wealthy to pay their fair share. During his SOU, he said that taxing the wealthy would result in over $800 billion over the next ten years. That money can help our country in so many ways.

Clearly, President Joe Biden is not in this for himself. He genuinely wants to help the American people, unlike Trump, who wants to help himself. The choice is yours, but there really is no choice. We can either move forward or we can move backward to certain disaster.
