Joe Biden is absolutely right about this
Joe Biden now says he’d be fortunate to face Donald Trump in 2024. Biden is correct. If his 2024 opponent is Trump – an extremely unpopular figure who lost the American middle a long time ago and is weighed down by endless scandals and worsening senility – Biden will win easily. But Trump won’t be the 2024 nominee; we wouldn’t get that lucky.
The more dangerous 2024 scenario is that the republicans nominate someone new who’s just as corrupt and deranged as Trump but doesn’t have the baggage, and doesn’t get properly vetted because the media was too busy insisting Trump was going to be the nominee.
In such case the media would do everything possible to normalize that corrupt extremist republican nominee, thus giving that nominee a free pass with voters in the middle. In other words the 2024 Republican nominee would get the same free pass that Trump got in 2016.
