Joe Biden has done the impossible tonight

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This morning Palmer Report explained why nothing that’s transpired over the past few days was much of a surprise. Joe Biden was always going to win South Carolina. He was always going to get a Super Tuesday surge out of it. Pete and Amy were always going to bomb there, realize their campaigns were over, and get behind Biden. But what we’re seeing tonight is definitely a surprise.

Joe Biden just won Minnesota, a state where he was down twenty points a few days ago. Yes, he benefited from Minnesota’s Amy Klobuchar dropping out and endorsing him. But still, this is a massive shift in an incredibly short amount of time. Endorsements or not, voters are flocking to Biden in what seems like frankly impossible proportions.

Joe Biden also just won Massachusetts, where he wasn’t even supposed to get a single delegate. The only question in Massachusetts was supposed to be whether Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren won, and Biden beat them both. Biden also won Oklahoma, which Sanders won four years ago. We all knew Biden would win Virginia, but he won it by thirty points.

Yes, Texas is going to be a close call, and yes, Sanders will likely win California. But Joe Biden will come out of tonight with about half the Super Tuesday delegates or more – something that should have been impossible. Considering Biden is on track to win upcoming states like Florida and Georgia in blowouts, he’s in the driver’s seat now. We’ve known for weeks that Biden would surge coming out of South Carolina, but not on this massive of a scale.
