Donald Trump goes completely off the deep end as Joe Biden enters the 2020 race

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Former VP Joe Biden entered the 2020 race for president today, as has long been widely expected. Biden is entering a crowded field on the Democratic side, and he’ll have to get past substantial challengers like Kamala Harris as well as upstarts like Pete Buttigieg โ€“ and a whole lot of other contenders โ€“ in order to win the nomination. But let’s just say that Donald Trump is already taking notice.

Shortly after Joe Biden officially launched his campaign today, Donald Trump promptly had a complete meltdown: “Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!” While this is deranged word salad for the most part, we can glean some things here about what Trump is expecting from the 2020 election.

For starters, it’s more clear than ever that Trump thinks his 2020 opponent will be one of his fellow older white man. That’s not surprising, considering that Trump is equal parts sexist, racist, and narcissistic. Strangely, Trump seems to be trying to paint Biden in a positive light in comparison to the other Democratic candidates with their supposed “sick & demented ideas.” Does this mean Trump is hoping Biden will be the nominee?

Of course Donald Trump is busting out yet another infantile nickname โ€“ but “Sleepy Joe” is uninspired and idiotic even by Trump’s standards. In any case, it’s clear that Joe Biden’s candidacy has caused Trump to sit up and take notice. There’s little doubt that Trump will try to find a way to sabotage what should otherwise be a healthy 2020 Democratic primary.
