Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg are cooking up something together

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

The thing about politics is that things don’t tend to happen by mere happenstance. This morning Pete Buttigieg let it be known to the media that he was staying in the race. This evening he let it be known to the media that he was dropping out. What changed? He surely looked at the math and saw that by dropping out now instead of dragging things out til after Super Tuesday, he could help tilt the race toward Joe Biden over Bernie Sanders. This has led to questions about whether Pete and Biden are coordinating for what comes next.

Now we have our answer: they’re at least trying to. More importantly, they want us to know that they’re working on it. MSNBC host Craig Melvin posted this tweet this evening from an inside source:

.

To be clear, these kinds of things only get leaked from the campaigns themselves, and then only if both campaigns want the information to be out there. In other words, Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg want us to know they’re cooking up something together. Is it an endorsement? Is it an event? Is it an announcement that Buttigieg will be Biden’s pick for Secretary of Defense? We’ll have to wait for that part.
