Jared Kushner hits the panic button about Saudi Arabia

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Sooner or later, Special Counsel Robert Mueller will do us all a favor and fully flesh out the obviously corrupt relationship between Jared Kushner and Saudi Arabia. For now, suffice it to say that Kushner is even more blatantly a puppet of the Saudi Crown Prince than his father-in-law Donald Trump is, and the murder of Jamal Khashoggi keeps proving it. In fact, Kushner is so worried about what happens next, he’s taking an extraordinarily rare step.

That’s right, Jared Kushner spoke today. He did a bizarre puff piece of an interview with Van Jones of CNN, which saw Jones bending over backward to sound like Kushner’s biggest cheerleader. The entire thing was shameful by journalistic standards; Jones and CNN owe the nation an apology for having indulged in such a propaganda exercise. But the bottom line is this: Kushner almost never speaks. He doesn’t do interviews. Almost no one even knows the sound of his voice.

Yet here Jared Kushner is, suddenly making a point of subjecting himself to a live interview, even if it is painfully clear that his handlers pre-negotiated nothing but softball questions. Kushner knew he’d get asked about Jamal Khashoggi and Saudi Arabia, so he’s clearly looking to get his side of the story out there. His “side” ended up consisting of little more than generic statements that sound like they could have been cut and pasted from an early draft of the statements that the Saudi government has been releasing, but again, it’s a big deal that Kushner is speaking about it at all – because he never speaks. He’s clearly spooked.
