January 6th Committee adds another Republican to its ranks

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The January 6th Committee currently consists of six House Democrats, along with House Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. This was the result of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy attempting to put conspiracy theorists Jim Jordan and Jim Banks on the committee, prompting Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to reject them, in turn prompting McCarthy to pull all five of his picks.

But now the committee is about to add another Republican to its ranks. Denver Riggleman, a former House Republican who lost his seat to a primary challenge last year, is joining the committee as an “adviser.” This will serve to help balance things out in terms of the number of Democrats and Republicans involved with the committee, while also keeping the committee based in honesty; Riggleman began calling Trump out on his lies awhile back.
