James Carville is right
Even as large chunks of the media openly salivate for a controversial election result that stretches out for days and sets all kinds of TV ratings records, it’s not a given that this will happen. In fact Joe Biden is heading into election day with the largest lead in the polling averages in a generation – and the Trump/GOP court challenges just keep failing.
Democratic strategist James Carville, who has a knack for being right when most others are wrong, predicted today that we’ll know the election results by 10pm eastern time on election night. His reasoning? It’s a blowout, and blowouts tend to be called early.
I’m not putting my money down on any specific time of night. But James Carville is correct in that there’s a good chance this election will indeed be called on Tuesday night. After all, most of our fear and trepidation about the election is based on the gut punch that was 2016, and as the numbers keep making clear, the 2020 election looks nothing like the 2016 election.
