CNN’s Jake Tapper goes off the rails
I hate to do what I am about to do. This article is about one particular media pundit who did something that appalled me. Generally, I do not like to call out specific pundits. There are good ones and bad ones, and they can coexist together. But sometimes, a pundit or two goes off the rails so deeply it must be called out. I am referring to CNN’s Jake Tapper.
President Biden’s approval ratings have seen an uptick, as you might have heard. This is not surprising. Palmer Report had predicted this months ago. And this fact was mentioned by many pundits. Tapper even mentioned it — but not for the reasons one might think.
This is TERRIBLE news, Tapper declared. What are the Democrats going to do? HOW will they win any more elections? I will admit — in a world that holds very few political surprises — I was stunned. So were a whole lot of people, judging from the reaction on social media.
Tapper did something else utterly despicable. He combined the neutral polling recipients with the ones that disapproved. That made it seem Biden’s disapproval was far higher than it actually was.
There are rumors floating about that Tapper might, in fact, take the 9:00 PM spot, formerly belonging to Chris Cuomo. I do hope that all sense has not left CNN. If they do this, their ratings will tank even lower. Tapper is not only a negative Nellie; he also has about as much charisma as laundry detergent. I don’t say that snarkily.
But being honest with the American people is vital, especially now. Mr. Tapper’s antics are disgraceful, and the other day really opened my eyes. If I were advising CNN, I would say, just say no to Jake.
