Jack Smith’s tactics are working

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Numerous pieces of Trump indictment-related news surfaced this past weekend. But the single most important piece of information is the fact that the “Trump Employee 4” named in Jack Smith’s latest indictment received a target letter before he decided to begin cooperating.

Why is this so important? It means that there was a point where Trump Employee 4, Yuscil Taveras, was refusing to cooperate. Then he got a target letter, realized he was going to end up in prison, and changed his mind and decided to cooperate. It’s proof that Jack Smith’s tactics are working.

It also means that just because Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira are currently refusing to cooperate, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll stick with that decision. Jack Smith will presumably keep ramping up the pressure on them, just as he did with Taveras. There’s no way to predict whether Nauta and De Oliveira will cooperate in the end. But it doesn’t mean much that they’re currently refusing to cooperate. Taveras was refusing to cooperate, until he caved and decided to cooperate.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that Taveras’ cooperation increases the odds of everyone else being convicted, which puts more pressure on the likes of Nauta and De Oliveira to flip. The more you look around and see insiders lining up to testify against you, the more it sinks in that you’re not getting acquitted. Tick tock.
