Jack Smith’s grand jury is apparently in its end stage today

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Jack Smith’s grand jury is hearing from Trump aide William Russell today, per NBC. He’s already testified previously. This fits with last night’s reporting from CNN that the grand jury would very quickly hear from two witnesses today. Russell and someone else have apparently been brought back for brief follow up questions.

This is what you expect to see at the very end of a grand jury process. Prosecutors decide to bring back one or more witnesses to nail down a key point or two that prosecutors want the grand jury to hear just before being asked to vote on indictments.

Best guess is that with these followup witnesses out of the way, it comes down to whether there are still enough hours left today to finish presenting the closing argument and have the grand jury vote. Will Trump be indicted by the end of today, or will it spill over into the next day the grand jury meets?

One thing is for sure: if you’re not pleased with having to wait to find out whether Donald Trump is being indicted today, imagine being Donald Trump right now.
