Jack Smith received thousands of pages of new Trump 1/6 evidence last night

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Jack Smith reportedly received thousands of pages of January 6th evidence last night from Rudy Giuliani sidekick Bernard Kerik, per CNN. It’s difficult to imagine this will delay Trump’s indictment, as the evidence can simply be added to the case after the indictment. But it’s the latest sign that people around Trump are trying to save themselves at the last minute.

This comes after reports last week that Kerik was seeking to arrange an interview with Jack Smith. And it comes after Giuliani did reportedly conduct a proffer interview with Smith. It’s not clear if Giuliani and Kerik are working together on this or if they’re each doing it for fear the other will flip. But either way, they’re both trying to help themselves at Trump’s expense.

It’s unlikely like that either Giuliani or Kerik wants to be giving up evidence against their pal Trump like this. But with this kind of criminal plot, a skilled prosecutor constructs the case such that people like Giuliani and Kerik end up having no choice but to cooperate in the hope of leniency. And we’re now seeing precisely that.
