Jack Smith names third defendant in Trump Mar-a-Lago criminal case

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Jack Smith has just added a third defendant to the Trump Mar-a-Lago case, Carlos De Oliveira, per NBC News. He’s the one who drained the swimming pool and flooded the room where evidence was being kept. Guess that plan went down the drain.

There are conflicting legal theories as to whether this is an attempt at pressuring De Oliveira to flip, or whether this means De Oliveira has flipped and this is an attempt at pressuring Walt Nauta to flip.

Either way, this is proof that the classified documents probe is still very much ongoing, and we don’t know how many more people will be charged in it.

It’s also a timely reminder that Jack Smith could indict Trump for January 6th on his own, and then add his co-conspirators to the mix after the fact. Stay tuned. We don’t know quite when and how this is all going to play out, but it’s clear that more news is now surfacing on this front by the hour.
