Jack Smith is already getting his way in the Trump classified documents trial
The ballad of Aileen Cannon took a turn this week as the Judge in question decided to enter a trial date for the orange beast. “This case is hereby set for a Criminal Trial during the two-week period commencing August 14, 2023, or as soon thereafter as the case may be called.”
Talk about speedy trials! However, I think most know the trial date will not actually take place on this day. After all, Trump’s lawyers, if he still has any left, have to get their security clearances, motions have to be filed, and the usual prepping has to be done.
But it IS a sign that Cannon does not appear to want to drag this out. In fact, many who know Cannon say her usual preference IS a speedy trial — though it’s doubtful it will be THAT speedy.
But Cannon’s ruling also goes very in-depth about OTHER things like what happens at the sentencing phase. This all spells bad news for our least favorite traitor. Has he come to terms with the truth yet? Does he realize he’s in deep shit?
In any event, this is a clear sign that the trump prosecution is up, up and away! Undoubtedly there will be lots of motions and lots of filings. But the big news is that Trump’s delay tactics have not worked. He’s gonna go to trial. He is (in my opinion) going to get convicted.
I do not like to make predictions like that, but let’s face it: The DOJ has a record of getting convictions, and these types of cases usually end with a guilty verdict. This happens well over fifty percent of the time and usually closer to ninety percent. So yes, I think Trump is on his way to being found guilty. And just think — August still holds the Georgia indictment! Trump certainly does have his hands full.
