Jack Smith fires back at Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump seems to think that he’s scored some kind of victory because Judge Tanya Chutkan has placed the criminal case on hold while the U.S. Court of Appeals hears Trump’s appeal about having “presidential immunity.” It’s actually just a procedural move and not a win in any way.

But Trump nonetheless seemed shocked when Jack Smith continued making filings in the criminal case even while it was on “hold.” Trump even had his attorneys make the laugh out loud nonsensical move of asking the court to hold Smith in contempt for making such filings. Now Smith is firing back.

Jack Smith has now filed a response to Trump’s complaint, pointing out that Judge Chutkan didn’t forbid Smith from making additional filings. Smith is basically using his filing to explain to Trump how things actually work, to the point that it’s humiliating for Trump – if Trump were capable of feeling such a thing.
