I’ve been waiting for this one

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

For as long as Donald Trump has been talking about building a wall on the border, the rest of us have been quipping that we want to build a wall around him. After all, he’s always insisted that his wall was to protect us from supposed criminals, and he’s the biggest criminal of all.

Now, in one of the most surreal moments of his failed presidency, Donald Trump is building a wall around himself – literally. He’s so afraid of the peaceful protesters across the street from the White House, he’s walling himself in. Okay, so the structure he’s having built looks more like complex fencing material than a wall. But Trump has erected a few miles of fencing on the border and called it a wall, so the term is fair game.

Donald Trump building a wall around himself, to keep Americans out, is almost too perfect of a metaphor for what a failure he is, what a coward he is, and how at odds he is with America. I’ve been waiting for this moment. I just didn’t think it would happen in such literal fashion.

Also, let’s keep in mind that by simply protesting peacefully outside the White House, we’ve goaded Donald Trump into building a wall around himself. He’s that easily manipulated. Let’s keep in mind that we can goad him into finishing himself off.
