Ivanka Trump has a whole new problem
The events of yesterday have sent shockwaves through Donald Trump’s orbit, prompting some of his most absurd tweets yet, and immediately revealing that certain people in particular have a big problem on their hands. For instance, Michael Cohen knows something about Donald Trump Jr’s Russia meeting, and the conviction of Paul Manafort solidifies the blueprint for taking down Roger Stone. But there’s a name that no one is talking about today, even though they should: Ivanka Trump.
Michael Cohen did a lot more than merely act as “fixer” for candidate Donald Trump during the election. He also spent several years acting as the fixer for the Trump Organization. After Cohen cut a plea deal yesterday and named Donald Trump as an unindicted co-conspirator, the state of New York subpoenaed Cohen today as part of its ongoing investigation into the Trump Organization. The three people who were spearheading Trump Organization deals while their dad was busy doing the Apprentice? Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and yes, Ivanka Trump.
For instance it’s long been widely reported that Ivanka Trump had her fingerprints all over the Trump Organization’s infamous “Trump SoHo” partnership with convicted Russian mafia money launderer Felix Sater. By definition, Michael Cohen’s role as fixer was to deal with the dirty stuff and keep it all under wraps. What does he know about the Trump SoHo deal, and Ivanka Trump’s role in it?
The state of New York is about to find out, because the investigation into the Trump Organization isn’t going to stop with just one illegal hush money payment. Michael Cohen just formally accused Donald Trump of instructing him to commit crimes with the intention of altering the outcome of the election. He’s not going to stop now. Donald Trump Jr’s ticket to prison was already punched by his own father. Now it’s time for Ivanka Trump to worry.
