Ivanka Trump takes heat for her response to bombs targeting Democrats

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Today we saw the attempted assassinations of former President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former CIA Director John Brennan, and current Congresswoman Maxine Waters, among others, and they all have one thing in common: they’re Democrats who have been routinely targeted by Donald Trump’s often violent rhetoric. Ivanka Trump tried responding to the attacks, but it didn’t go particularly well.

Here’s what Ivanka Trump tweeted about today’s attacks: “I strongly condemn the attempted acts of violence against President Obama, the Clinton family, CNN & others. There is no excuse—America is better than this. Gratitude to the Secret Service and law enforcement for all they do to keep this nation safe.” This would have been precisely the right message, if it weren’t coming from the daughter of the guy whose violent rhetoric is at the root of all of this.

“Morning Joe” Scarborough, a former Republican, responded with this question for Ivanka Trump: “Do you strongly condemn your father using the presidential bully pulpit and years of campaign rallies to constantly stir up hatred against CNN, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?” Others weighed in as well, accusing Ivanka of being an enabler for her father’s atrocious behavior.
