Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner flip out as everything falls apart

When an already-collapsing campaign suffers something as humiliating and debilitating as what happened to the Donald Trump campaign last night, there’s always fallout – and scapegoating. The trouble for the people around Trump is that there are so few of them left, there aren’t many scapegoats to go around.

To that end, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are flipping out. They’re leaking to CNN that they’re “pissed” at Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale for overhyping what he should have known would be a poorly attended rally. This is fair criticism, as Parscale totally blew it. But everyone knows that within the Trump orbit, every shot is called by someone in the Trump family, not by a stooge like Parscale.

It raises the question of who within Trump’s orbit might have given Parscale approval to start publicly hyping what he had to know were phony signup numbers and baseless attendance estimates. In that context, it’s notable that Ivanka and Jared are the first ones out of the gate to leak that they’re blaming Parscale.
