New development suggests Ivanka Trump may be the next to go

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In a sign that things aren’t nearly as stable for him as he’d like us to believe, Donald Trump is once again shaking up the skeleton crew of sycophants who run his White House. Trump just hired a new Communications Director, a position he only tends to fill when he’s trying to oust people from other positions, amid major media reports that two of his top existing people are on their way out. Now a new development suggests that Ivanka Trump could be going with them.

Donald Trump has no practical use for the Communications Director position; he simply uses it as a moving part. When he hired Anthony Scaramucci for the position, it was to force out Press Secretary Sean Spicer and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. Now he’s hired former Fox News exec Bill Shine to the position, amid reports from major media outlets that Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Chief of Staff John Kelly are preparing to resign. Even as history repeats itself there’s a twist this time involving Ivanka.

As Donald Trump’s latest chaotic and pointless staff shakeup plays out, top Ivanka Trump adviser Maggie Cordish has suddenly resigned, according to Politico. They’re suggesting that her departure is because Ivanka’s mythical paid family leave bill no longer has any chance of passing Congress. But this makes no sense, because it long ago became clear that the collapsing Trump administration isn’t getting any more legislation passed.

So the question is whether the departure of top Ivanka Trump adviser during the midst of a major White House staff shakeup is some kind of grand coincidence, or if it’s a prelude to Ivanka’s own departure. Would Donald Trump fire his daughter? We doubt it. But now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is closing in on the biggest fish in the Trump-Russia scandal, it’s going to get much uglier for Donald going forward. We’ll see if Ivanka has the stomach to stick around for it.
