It’s their problem now

Republicans willingly chose Donald Trump as their 2024 nominee. It’s no one’s fault but their own that they are now stuck with a convicted felon and a man who has voiced his desire to be a dictator. Now that they are coming to realize that Trump is a complete turnoff to anyone but them, they want to use the same terms against President Joe Biden, for what that’s worth. Lindsey Graham said on Sunday that President Biden is the “real felon” because he doesn’t like the president’s policies. Fine. You don’t like his policies, but that doesn’t make him a felon. Just when you thought no one could say anything as “mind-numbingly stupid as Graham,” to quote Michael Steele, we hear from North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, who claims President Biden is a dictator. Wait until you read “why.”

It is very difficult for President Biden to get anything done with the many wacko Congressmembers in office. When a president can’t get laws passed, executive orders come into play. According to Burgum, President Biden “is using executive orders more than other presidents” and in doing so, “he wants to be a dictator.” Burgum obviously doesn’t understand how things work in Washington. The two actions that President Biden has taken that are most egregious to Burham are-wait for it-forgiving student loans and climate initiatives. Oh, damn it all to hell! What is that man doing, trying to make life better for mere mortals? Does Burgum honestly think his constituents won’t appreciate forgiveness for loans they’ll otherwise take to their graves? Burgum was confronted with this nonsense by Kaitlan Collins during an interview. Shamefully, no matter how stupid hosts make these fools seem, they refuse to back down. Burgum said: “On the student loan thing, when the Supreme Court ruled against him, then he just said, ‘Hey, we’ll figure a different way to do it.'” And there’s something wrong with that?

According to Newsweek, Burgum is hoping to be Trump’s running mate, so that explains his nonsense; however, he and others like him aren’t even considering the swing votes nor the independents who just want some normalcy in government. Well, this ain’t it. Even though Newsweek couldn’t get responses from Burgum’s office or Trump’s campaign, Alex Floyd, a spokesperson for the DNC, had plenty to say: “Doug Burgum is sucking up to a convicted felon who has threatened a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses, called to ‘terminate’ the Constitution, and pledged to be a dictator on ‘Day One.'” Collins tried pushing back on Burgum, but that’s an effort in futility. Once these nutjobs have made up their minds, that’s it. They’re not backing down. Take Eric Trump, for example, who put his unbelievable words on the far-right X22 Podcast for the world to see: “I think my father will go down, maybe his greatest accomplishment, will actually be the kind of unvarnished honesty that he’s really taken toward the whole system.” Honesty? The man doesn’t know the meaning of the word. They have all lost whatever pieces of their minds they had.
