It’s not just that Donald Trump is broke. So is his campaign.
A report from Bloomberg News estimates that Donald Trump could soon run out of money — exactly when he needs it the most. If Donald Trump becomes the GOP nominee, he’ll need a war chest. That doesn’t look like it’s happening.
$26.6 million. That’s what this report estimates Trump will need to spend. The report notes that: “Trump will likely drain his war chest for legal fees this summer…leaving the GOP frontrunner crunched for cash just as his presidential campaign ramps up spending.”
This is not good news for Donald Trump, but then again, what is? The fact is Trump has received nothing but BAD news lately. I cannot think of one piece of good news he has gotten in MONTHS. Now, we come to another aspect of this story. If Trump does indeed find himself a pauper, what does he do? Where can he get more money?
The report says he has some options but deems all of them “unappealing.” Option one. Trump could ask The Republican National Committee to fork over some green. And given that Trump enforced his Daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as co-chair, that might work.
However: (There is always an “however” with Trump isn’t there?) That option would force Republicans to take cash reserves to win elections and instead use it to pay for Trump’s legal defense.
Then there is the issue of the Committee themselves. To put it bluntly — they’re broke too. Okay. So, let’s go to option number two—small-dollar donors. But the problem is that Trump spent more than he raised in 2023. There’s hardly any “nest egg” left.
So basically, Trump could find himself broke. What’s a traitor to do? If I were Trump (and thank goodness I’m not) dropping out of the race, seems an excellent option. That is precisely why he won’t do it. If there’s a bad decision to be made, Trump will make it. Perhaps Trump’s personal issues will wind up bankrupting the whole damn party.
