It’s almost like RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel is trying to lose

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel now says the lesson the Republican Party has learned from the last election is that its candidates should advertise themselves more blatantly as being anti-abortion in the next election. This is an odd move, given that McDaniel is generally a Trump puppet, and if anything Trump seems to be trying to downplay the issue. But whoever is pushing McDaniel in this direction, it’s terrible advice.

If these Republican idiots want to set themselves up to lose like this in 2024, then so be it. We can’t control what the Republican Party decides to do. As long as the party remains a corrupt extremist dumpster fire, all we can do is continue to work to defeat as many Republican candidates as possible. If the Republicans decide to make our job easier by loudly taking unpopular positions, then we’ll just have to make sure it translates into wins for the Democrats.

Remember, no single thing causes an election cycle to go a certain way. There are always numerous factors at work. Some things end up being bigger factors than others. And the increasingly self destructive Republican Party keeps handing up big reasons why we can dominate in 2024. But it’ll still come down to our ability to smartly focus on competitive winnable races, and our willingness to put in the kind of work required to come out on top.
