It’s all coming out now
The minute Donald Trump was declared the loser of the 2020 election, Palmer Report predicted that 1) all of Trump and his henchmen’s dirty secrets would end up coming out, and 2) all of them would eventually go down for it. These things always take time, but sure enough, this is now happening on all fronts.
The Washington Post is now reporting that the Trump-era Department of Justice secretly obtained its reporters’ phone circa-2017 records in relation to the Trump-Russia scandal. Apparently there was a subpoena involved, but when you’re talking about this kind of thing, it doesn’t magically make it legal. This was a clear cut attempt at obstructing justice and worse.
The Post doesn’t know which high level DOJ official signed off on the illegal surveillance. It’s not even clear whether Jeff Sessions or Bill Barr was Attorney General at the time, because while the phone records in question were from 2017, the internal documents don’t specify when the records were seized. In any case, whoever signed off on this is in a whole heap of legal trouble.
And so yet another top Trump henchman is going down, although we don’t yet know which one. Of course this is likely just the tip of the iceberg. The Trump regime went to criminal lengths to spy on Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos, and worked with the National Enquirer to retaliate against him, all in an effort to stop the Post from digging into Trump’s crimes.
This stuff is all going to come out now. The defeatists within the Resistance will use it as another opportunity to yell “Look, they got away with it all!” But that’s not how any of this works. In reality, each time something like this leaks out, it means yet another criminal investigation will get underway, and yet another Trump henchman will go down. It’s all just a matter of time. It always has been.
