Donald Trump is out of ammo

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

It took him most of the day, but Donald Trump (or perhaps one of his social media handlers) finally worked up the nerve this evening to lash out at one of the many Republicans, conservatives, and former allies who have criticized him over the past twenty-four hours. Unfortunately for Trump, all he did was prove that he’s out of ammo.

Yesterday Donald Trump announced what he claimed was a great new deal with Turkey, but it was nothing of the sort. Republican Senator Mitt Romney quickly called out the deal for being a bunch of crap. Trump has repeatedly attacked Romney over the past month for daring to stray from the party line. But this time around, Trump didn’t seem to have anything left up his sleeve.

This evening – more than twenty-four hours after Mitt Romney’s condemnation of the Turkey debacle – Donald Trump decided to tweet a video which mocked Romney’s loss in the 2012 presidential election. The trouble: it’s the same exact video that Trump tweeted about Romney four weeks ago.

Talk about being out of ammo. Mitt Romney keeps launching new attacks against Donald Trump on different topics, and it’s becoming clear that Romney is going to try to convince the Republican Senate to oust Trump entirely. Yet after Romney’s latest attack, all that Trump can do in response is sit on his hands for a full day, before recycling an old video and hoping no one notices that he’s used it before.
