Donald Trump posts insane tweet, immediately deletes it

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

Donald Trump is having a pretty terrible day, for someone who just got acquitted. Republican Senator Mitt Romney stole the show by voting to convict and remove him. The House says John Bolton is likely to testify. And Trump looked like a powerless stooge last night when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ripped up his speech.

So it’s perhaps fitting that in what amounts to his first official statement in the wake of Romney’s vote to remove him, Donald Trump posted one of his most insane tweets yet. He simply tweeted the words “What Really Happened” – with additional information – and then deleted it within a few seconds. Wait, what?

By the time we got the notification that Trump had posted the tweet, he had already deleted it. That’s understandable, considering it’s equal parts unintelligible and embarrassing. If Trump has to explain to us “what really happened” over the past twenty-four hours, then it means he’s already lost control of the narrative. When he then fails to even include his explanation of what really happened, it suggests he and his team are too frazzled to function.

Then again, maybe Donald Trump simply left the question mark off, and he’s asking us what really happened? Things are taking an awfully swift negative turn for him, after so many pundits started off the week insisting that he was embarking on a magic carpet ride. What really happened is that Trump finds ways to blow it even when things occasionally threaten to lean in his favor.
