Confirmed: Donald Trump was in the room where the felony happened

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In the popular Broadway play Hamilton, certain political figures reveal that they want to be “in the room where it happens.” They’re speaking, of course, about the important decision-making meetings for the nation. If you’re Donald Trump and you’re trying to fend off felony counts, the last thing you want is proof to surface that you were in the room where the felony happened. Well, guess what?

Donald Trump was in the room when his fixer Michael Cohen and National Enquirer boss David Pecker were conspiring to commit felony campaign finance fraud by paying out hush money to a Trump mistress, according to a new on-air report just now from NBC News and MSNBC. Why is this a big deal? Just hours ago, Trump did an interview with Fox News and tried to paint this crime as having simply been Cohen’s antics. But this changes everything.

Michael Cohen and David Pecker have both cut cooperation deals, meaning they’ve surely told federal prosecutors that Donald Trump was in the room. But we don’t think the SDNY is simply taking their word for it. Cohen and Pecker both have a reported history of clandestinely tape recording their conversations. Trump is claiming that he “never directed Michael Cohen to break the law,” but a tape recording from within the room would prove something very different.

One intriguing aspect of this revelation: the SDNY previously stated in court filings that a “Trump campaign official” was in the room with Cohen and Pecker. At the time, Palmer Report pointed out that the Trump campaign barely existed in August of 2015, and thus had virtually no officials. Now that we know Donald Trump was in the room, is he the “Trump campaign official” referenced by SDNY, or was there also a fourth person in the room? In any case, the walls just closed in further on Trump.
