In Jack Smith we trust
I have remarked before in my works, about what we all went through with Donald Trump. I have equated it to all of us having been in an abusive relationship with a maniac for four years. Then, making matters worse, all of us, and this writer includes herself, put our trust blindly in Robert Mueller. Understandably, many of us were let down by him.
Since then, it’s been difficult for many to see the forest for the trees, as it relates to trust. But there is sunlight, my friends dripping from high above, sunbeams, dancing all around us, and what are these particles of light telling us to do?
Trust Jack Smith. I cannot even count how many comments I’ve seen from people expressing their discomfort with trusting anyone in anything after Robert Mueller. I am not asking you to trust that Jack Smith will single-handedly bring down Donald Trump. On the contrary, in my humble opinion, Donald Trump has already been brought down. This is a group effort encompassing judges,Jurists, voters, and politicians.
So no, I am not asking that, but I do ask you to trust that Jack Smith could walk circles around Judge Cannon in intelligence. As Bill Palmer told you, Jack Smith is asking for a partial gag order preventing Donald Trump from putting police and FBI agents in danger. His move is brilliant, but it’s no less than I expect from one such as him.
Jack Smith is a brilliant prosecutor. He seems to have discovered his calling early in life, and so he persists in it today. I have been quietly confident that Jack Smith would file SOMETHING. I did not know what the filing would be made of, but one thing I did know is that Jack Smith is not the type to walk away to give up or to not fight back against injustice and compromised judges.
Judge Cannon is no match for Smith. He could defeat her in his sleep. He has backed her into a corner now. If she grants this partial gag order, which I highly doubt she will, Trump will be furious at her, but if she doesn’t? Many legal minds say that might be enough for the 11th circuit. It will undoubtedly show that Judge canon doesn’t give a damn about the safety of anybody.
So let’s just take the time to be thankful that we have in place a brilliant quarry catcher, a genius of the hunt in Jack Smith.
