Implosion

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Some Republicans are doing something very, very foolish. They’re attempting to defend the “trash heap” comments made at Madison Square Garden. It may seem impossible to you that anyone would try to do so, but then again, we are talking about the GOP. Saying and doing dumb things is their trademark.

I have this whimsical little fantasy, friends and readers. This fantasy is that the GOP has been the victims of wicked fairies — fairy Godmothers who, with one swipe of the wand — took away any working brain cells these Republicans had.

A GOP strategist, Matt Gorman, tried to say that nothing wrong had happened. This was on CNN where everyone was talking about what went down at the hate rally. But Gorman insisted, things were just fine! It’s comedy! He protested.

David Frum of The Atlantic hit back without hesitation, labeling the comments “moronic and anti-social. A man who tells it like it is. I am curious, dear friends. How will JD Vance defend these comments?

And you know that he will. Vance hovers, like a particular foul refinery stench on the periphery, perhaps getting himself ready to blame the comments on childless cat ladies, or immigrants. It is wonderfully amusing watching the GOP implode. If indeed there is a Fairy Godmother out there, I have a feeling she’s a Democrat.
