I’m fed up. Are you?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“We hear guns; you and I

We ask what is that

Then we open the Times.

We’re informed where it’s at”

Jacques Brel – “Alone”

This song could have been written yesterday. In fact, it’s quite an old song, but these words have never been more true. And the American people know it. Gallup is out with a new poll regarding gun violence. And its findings show that the American people are FED UP.

I chose to capitalize those last two words because I’m fed up — and so I imagine are you. Look at this poll and marvel. Marvel at how much we are united in wanting sensible gun reform, contrary to what the GOP says. The Gallup poll shows that almost 65% of the American people are FED UP. This poll was conducted January 2-22 of this year. 84% of democrats are dissatisfied. But even many Republicans are showing signs of being dissatisfied.

The poll shows that only 54% of republican voters are satisfied. That might appear to be a lot, but not really when one thinks about it. It is only slightly more than half. What do these results say? They say America is FED UP.

And ALL Americans are fed up. Not just democrats. Not just one group or two groups. EVERYONE. Fed up with the NRA. Fed up with this pulsating issue — this madness republican politicians stubbornly persist in pretending does not exist.

So let this poll serve as a message that we are on the right side of history. And we can change things. The name of the song I quoted is “ALONE.” But we are not alone. It is the NRA and some GOP politicians who are alone.

We are all united and fed up with this Republican malaise. So let’s do something. Let’s be louder in taking our message to the American people. The American people WANT solutions in regard to this pervasive problem that only America seems to have.
