Joe Biden just won Illinois in a blowout
By 7:15pm eastern time, the partial voting results in Florida left zero mathematical doubt that Joe Biden would win the state in a blowout, so Palmer Report called the state for him. The TV networks wanted to wait until the polls closed in the western part of the Florida panhandle, which is in the central time zone. But sure enough, at 8pm, CNN and MSNBC both called Florida for Biden. This brings us to Illinois.
The vote totals in Illinois are still very early, but here’s all you need to know to see which way the state is trending and by how much:

We’re not sure how much longer the TV networks will wait to call Illinois. MSNBC said that it wasn’t able to conduct proper exit polling in Illinois due to coronavirus fears, meaning the network will have to rely on other numbers to make its call. But it’s over. Joe Biden has won Illinois. Update, 8:30pm: the Associated Press has also called Illinois for Biden.
