If it can happen in the Villages…

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“We thought we were the only ones!!” Something is happening. Lawn signs for Kamala Harris. Proud Harris supporters wear T-shirts. Something is happening. Call to a coming together, a gradual awareness, a light that, when turned on, cannot go off again. It’s a joyful moment, a bubbling over of warmth in a plethora of sunshine—the sunshine state.

“We thought we were the only ones!!” We’re hearing these cries of utter delight from The Villages. The Villages, Florida’s premier retirement community, had always been red. That is quickly changing. I reported on this phenomenon once before. Since then, support for Harris in the Villages has only gotten stronger.

There have been golf cart parades, Golf carts decorated with Harris memorabilia, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff actually paying a visit there. “Democrats in the Villages has kind of become a thing,” one resident said. And they are proud! So very proud! Once a red staple, this master-planned community is quickly developing a tinge of blue that is getting brighter and brighter with each passing day.

If it can happen here….. Yes, if it can happen in the Villages, where else is it happening right now? “Hundreds of Harris for President run through Trump stronghold.” Trump stronghold? Maybe not so much anymore. Streamers on golf carts as they honked their horns to cheers from other residents. Something is happening. And I think I like it.
